The Coalition for Global Hearing Health is a 501c3 nonprofit entity registered with the United States Internal Revenue Service.

The CGHH is managed by an executive board (James E. Saunders, Jackie Clark, Karl White, David Molter, and King Chung supported by the Advocacy, Education /Training, Family / Community Empowerment, Best Practices, and Technology committees.

James E. Saunders, MD, MS, practices at Dartmouth Health in Lebanon, New Hampshire, and specializes in Otology and Neurotology and Otolaryngology (Ear, Nose & Throat).

He completed an M.D. at University of Oklahoma, his residency and a research fellowship in Otolaryngology at Duke University Medical Center, and a Research and Clinical Fellowship at the House Ear Institute.

Dr. Saunders has been involved with many projects related to the etiology, prevention and treatment of hearing loss in the developing world including collaborations with the World Health Organization and the Global Burden of Disease Project.

Dr. Jackie Clark joined the Master’s Level faculty in Audiology at UT Dallas, and within a few years the program became a Doctoral Level in Audiology.

Prior to joining UT Dallas, she was a medical audiologist in major Dallas hospitals where she created newborn hearing screening services and bedside audiometric evaluations. 

She currently teaches a variety of classes and provides clinical services at the Callier Center. In addition, she has been awarded an appointment as Research Scholar with the University of Witwatersrand School of Speech and Hearing Therapy in Johannesburg, South Africa, and is the Past President of the American Academy of Audiology. 

Dr. Karl White is a Professor of Psychology at Utah State University and the founding director of the National Center for Hearing Assessment and Management. For the past 40 years, he has devoted his professional career to conducting research and providing training globally about issues and evidence related to implementing and improving early hearing detection and intervention programs for children who are deaf and hard of hearing. It almost didn’t happen.

David Molter is Professor of Otolaryngology at Washington University School of Medicine

Dr. King Chung is an educator, a researcher, an inventor, and a humanitarian. Her areas of expertise are in amplification, calibration, and humanitarian audiology.

Her research team developed an automated hearing test app to improve the access to hearing loss identification, especially in low- to mid-income countries.

Dr. Chung has led students on >10 Study Abroad humanitarian research and service trips to 8 countries in 5 continents to facilitate better hearing care services to underserved and unserved populations around the world. Applying her expertise to fight social injustice and to foster future generations of humanitarians, her latest work is to lead students and alumni to provide hearing services to Ukrainian refugees in Poland.
